Marty G. Curtis, founder and owner of Combustion Systems Sales & Service and Consultant for the family business, RoZarks Hills Coffee Roasterie, will be assisting you throughout your stay. Providing opportunities to work one-on-one, and creating an atmosphere that will leave you feeling trained, refreshed and confident to begin spreading the knowledge you will have gained.
Marty has been working in the industry for well over 30 years in roaster rebuilding, performance enhancement, afterburner design, and fabrication. His work doesn't end there; he has also been designing computer systems for cupping and data logging with complete tracking of the coffee from the seed to consumer. If it only ended there, he also lends his knowledge by sitting on the Board of Directors' for the following company’s SCAA, Hines Public Market Coffee Canada, Ltd., Origins Organic Coffee and Vancouver Coffee Academy, while working as a Chair for Membership Development Committee for SCAA, and Advisory for the Technical Standards Committee and Head Cupping Judge for several Taste of Harvests.
Tracy Allen, CEO of Brewed Behavior will also be assisting you on your journey. He hopes that throughout your stay, you will have ample opportunities to have questions answered, information provided and hands on opportunities to get yourself comfortable and well accustomed to the cupping.
Tracy has been working in the coffee industry since 1988. However, like Marty, his work doesn't end there. He is the outgoing Secretary/Treasurer for the SCAA Board of Directors, has served as Chair of the Rules and Regulations Committee for the World Barista Championships and as Chairman of the United States Barista Championships. In addition Tracy is an SCAA certified ³Super Taster² and has served on International cupping jury¹s all over the world including, Ethiopia Limited/eCafe, Best of Panama and Cup of Excellence. Tracy's commitment to the coffee industry is well known, and the opportunity to give back to the industry and work towards a common language for all cuppers is what keeps him going.
